Our Story
About A³Z Volleyball
With changes to club volleyball in the east valley, we saw a need for another place where girls could practice, play, grow, and be part of a team. A³Z Volleyball was created to help meet that need.
We’re dedicated to building a welcoming home for athletes who haven’t found theirs yet—a place where they feel safe to learn, are encouraged to work hard, and know they belong. We hope players and families will join us for the long run, growing with A³Z through the seasons and school years ahead.
Our coaches look forward to sharing their stories, skills, and experience with every athlete who walks onto the court. We’re excited to learn from our players, too, as we build this club together.
🏐 Competition & Tournament Play
Arizona Region • USA Volleyball • AAU Volleyball
At A3Z Volleyball, we're committed to providing our athletes with meaningful competitive opportunities that challenge their skills, build confidence, and encourage growth both on and off the court.
Our teams will compete in the Arizona Region of USA Volleyball, participating in the full schedule of applicable USA Volleyball regional tournaments throughout the club season. In addition, we plan to participate in select AAU tournaments, giving our athletes additional opportunities to compete against different teams, experience new levels of competition, and continue developing their skills.
Our goal is to create a competitive yet supportive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to grow, contribute to her team, and develop a stronger understanding of the game.
We believe competition should build athletes up, not break them down. At A3Z, we emphasize teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for volleyball.
Final tournament schedules, locations, and participation details will be provided once teams are formed and event registrations are confirmed.
Meet the Director
Hi, I’m Amanda Shortland, founder and director of A³Z Volleyball. I started playing club volleyball at 11 years old and continued through my senior year of high school. Since then, the game has taken me to Australia, onto beach courts in California, and into adult USA Volleyball competition. I still love playing just as much as I did when I was a kid.
I’ve also had the opportunity to coach locally as an assistant coach at Campo Verde High School. Now, as a parent and a coach, I see how much a positive volleyball experience can mean to a young athlete—and how much it matters to the family cheering her on.
I created A³Z because I want girls to have a place where they can be challenged, make mistakes, gain confidence, and feel supported by their team. I thoroughly enjoy coaching and sharing what I’ve learned from a lifetime in this sport. I can’t wait to build something meaningful for the kids and families in our community, and for the game I care so much about.
